Jo was employed for a 12 month contract, with the Shire as the Project Manager for the Total Solar Eclipse, witnessed by
many millions in almost every Country. The scale of this event was unprecedented in regional Western Australia and the state government’s budget for the event including infrastructure and planning was over $30m. Jo’s role for this massive event was to plan and implement the entire program, leadership of internal and external staff including volunteers and a range of stakeholders, negotiate at the highest levels of government and manage the complex logistics prior, during and post event.
The Solar Eclipse Event was a resounding success and showcased Exmouth and Ningaloo region in the best light possible to the world. The benefits to the Shire in terms of marketing, reputation and status.

It is with considerable sadness that we say good bye to the wonderful little town of Exmouth.
We had 19 glorious nights here and what an experience it has been. We had the privilege of being volunteers with the Shire, the privilege of seeing the Eclipse. Given this massive event, you certainly rose to the occasion. How awesome is Exmouth

I stayed at Welch St with friends from Adelaide and Darwin. The booking process, management at arrival, cooking and bathroom facilities, cleaning of facilities, lost and found, and shuttle bus were all great!!!!

Blessing of the Fleet 2023
The 2023 Geraldton Blessing of the Fleet would not have been possible without Jo - while our committee was wallowing in paperwork (we did not realise how much was involved in running community event) she came along like a breathe of sunshine and got us thought to yesterdays fabulous day.
